Join us for the NM Gourd Society's Celebration of Gourds Festival and Art Classes. Take a class - meet our artists! Learn new techniques from our artists like: D.R. Nance, Dominic Arquero, and Sue Brogdon. Our very own renowned Sierra County artist, Steph Ross, will be there with her amazing gourds!! The event begins at 10am with a POW/MIA service at Dam Site Restaurant Patio. Decorated boats meet at Dam Site to start the boat parade at noon. At 12:30 the boats pass by the main boat ramp for wreath toss and playing of taps. All are invited to decorate their boats, rvs or campsites and join the parade honoring those who've served in the military. Cost: free. Memorial Day Weekend begins at 10am on Saturday, May 25 at Veterans Memorial Park. A short program will be conducted by the talented Sam Parker of the VFW post in Williamsburg. The ROTC Color Guard will be students of Hot Springs High School. Afterward, visitors can tour the famous Hamilton Military Museum and a replica of the Veterans Wall + a stroll along the Walk of Education. Have a tailgate picnic to share. Bring friends.
