Hamilton Military Museum
Posted September 24, 2012
Dedicated in November 2009, the Hamilton Military Museum is located at Veterans Memorial Park, next to the Vietnam War Memorial replica and Walk of Education in T or C, NM.
Through the generous donations of men and women who have served and their families in the armed forces, this museum and its contents are a living memorial and history of our country and the dedication of those who served. This is their story. Many rare and educational exhibits may be found within the museum: historic war displays range from a military button collection to Buffalo Soldier memorabilia, and there’s a special focus on local heroes.
Displays are continually being updated and expanded.

Sierra County...A Great Place to Visit
Posted September 16, 2012
Geronimo Springs Museum is located in downtown Truth or Consequences. The museum has numerous displays on the history of Sierra County from prehistoric times to the present day. After browsing the colorful gift shop and well-stocked book store, enter the room featuring both mastodan and mammoth skulls found in the county. There are also displays of fossils, rocks and minerals of the area.
Continue on to rooms featuring Apache history, Hispanic heritage, farming and ranching in the areas as well as early history of Sierra County and the hot mineral springs of the area. There are large displays of arrowheads, military dress and equipment, and early settlers.
The Da-whe (Zuni for all kinds of pottery) is a very special room displaying a world class pottery collection including Mimbres, Tularosa, Alma and Hohokam pottery. Many other Native American artifacts like tools, jewelry and effigies are on display. There is an authentic miner's log cabin that was brought ffrom the Gila National Forest.
The Ralph Edwards Room tells the story of how the city came to be called Truth or Consequences. See memorabilia and information on annual Fiestas, photographs of Hollywood personalities who have attended Fiestas and videos of old Truth or Consequences game shows.
Adjacent to the museum is the colorful Las Palomas Plaza at Geronimo springs. This amazing ceramic sculpture, created by New Mexico artist Shel Neymark, commemorates where Native Americans and cowboys came to bathe in the hot mineral water. The plaza features waterfalls and troughs through which the hot mineral water flows.
